This adult / older teens presentation asks questions about our values and morals; as such, it is not appropriate in many classrooms and cultures. However, in the right setting this is a terrific lesson, guaranteed to have people speaking and voicing their opinions. It is assumed that the students are at ease with the second conditional, as they will need it to communicate - it is not taught here. Download this FREE lesson in the file at the bottom of the page. Crib and Class Notes are included on the final slides.
This older teens/adult lesson is suitable for online or small group teaching. The main focus is cars, vocabulary in British and American English related to cars (trunk/boot etc.), conversation about the different makes of cars and their reputation (reliable, sturdy etc.), and the student's/students' experiences of driving. Environmental concerns are NOT covered here; there is a separate PowerPoint available to address these issues. This PowerPoint can easily be stretched over 2 lessons, and there is a lot of scope for discussion here. It is quite complex, but please don't let that put you off - this presentation is tried and tested over many classes and students. note: There are no 'Class Notes'. The lesson does not suit a large group - it works better as one-to-ne or a small group.
